Some people used virtual machines for that, others used some 3rd party software. I've tried several times but nothing worked and there was seemingly no definitive answer on the internet. The second version 1.14D for online play. One version 1.13D for single player, with PlugY installed. I've recently had an idea to install two versions of Diablo II in parallel.
